Begun in the late 1970s, Huntington Hill has grown into the kind of neighborhood in which residents become friends.
"Here's a neighborhood that likes to do things together and have fun," said resident Kay Pfeiffer, who was initially drawn to Huntington Hill because of the school district.

Pembroke Commons forms diverse circle
The 150 homes of Pembroke Commons form a circle -- both literally and figuratively.
The neighborhood "is shaped as a circle," said Susan Wade, co-president of the homeowners association for Pembroke Commons, in reference to the physical placement of the homes. "It's a very traditional neighborhood in that sense."

The residents of Buttonwood meet and exceed the above description by Tom Wronski, resident of four years and leader of the Buttonwood Dads. The Dads are a group of parents who have been forging friendships among Buttonwood residents for two years now, purely on a volunteer basis.

Naper Carriage Hill comes full circle

When original residents John and Jeanette Rottersman built their home in 1978, many of the amenities that exist today were not yet in place.
"The library was a farm. We had chickens in our backyard," Jeanette Rottersman said. "Naper Boulevard was a gravel road."
