Maplebrook: Inviting and family-friendly

Even on a dreary, rainy Tuesday morning, the Maplebrook community of Naperville seems warm and inviting, with its well-kept yards and three-story homes. Bicycles strewn across driveways reflect the family-oriented nature of the community, and ponds provide serenity along the winding roads.
Maplebrook subdivision is broken into three parts:
• Maplebrook I, west of Washington Street and north of 75th Street
• Maplebrook II, west of Washington and south of 75th
• Maplebrook South, which shares many of the amenities of Maplebrook II
• Pools for both Maplebrook I and Maplebrook II
• Three different homeowners associations to serve the needs of residents
• Residents can connect to the Metra rails by Pace Bus 684
• Lincoln Junior High School
• Maplebrook Elementary School
• Residents of the adjacent Winding Creek Estates also attend Maplebrook Elementary. The two schools are feeders to Naperville Central High School.
• Population: 2,727, according to CityData.com
• Many of the streets in Maplebrook are named for birds, such as Bluebird Lane, Lark Lane and Sandpiper Lane.
• Wiley the Wildcat, Maplebrook Elementary School's mascot, was chosen by a student vote, according to Elise Crowell, who has taught at Maplebrook longer than any other current teacher.
