Jewelry trunk show: Hozhoni Gallery, 103 W. Jefferson Ave., downtown Naperville, has held over its jewelry trunk show until Saturday.

Painted violin collection: The collection of painted violins from the Fox Valley Academy of Music Performance will be on display at the Naperville Art League, 508 N. Center St., Naperville, through May 16. This exhibit will serve as a prescreening for the Academy of Music Performance's 2008 fundraising auction to be held June 26. 'The Laramie Project': North Central College will present its rendition of "The Laramie Project" today and Saturday in Pfeiffer Hall, 310 E. Benton Ave., Naperville. Fundraising walk: The Giant Steps annual fundraising walk to benefit Giant Steps Illinois Inc., a nonpublic therapeutic day school in Burr Ridge, serving individuals with autism spectrum disorders and their families, will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., at Harvester Park, 15W400 Harvester Drive, Burr Ridge.

Carillon tours: The Millennium Carillon and Visitor Center will be open for tours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 26. Friday tours will be added to the schedule from May 23 to Aug. 29. Admission is $3 for ages 5 and older. Children ages 4 and younger are admitted free. World Fair trade day: Ten Thousand Villages stores throughout the United States will celebrate World Fair Trade Day. The Glen Ellyn not-for-profit store, at 499C Pennsylvania Ave., will host an all-day observance between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to remind customers that their fair trade purchases help support just wages and safe working conditions for more than 60,000 artisans in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East. There will be refreshments.

Scout-O-Rama: Boy Scouts from the Three Fires Council are ready for this year's Scout-O-Rama from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Cantigny Park in Wheaton (rain or shine). This year's theme is "Scouting through History - A Century of Service." Highlights include an opening ceremony featuring the Windy City Sky Divers landing with the American flag (weather permitting), a 25-foot-high climbing wall, geocaching and the Radio Disney Patrol.

Dine out for a cause: All Famous Dave's barbecue restaurants in the greater Chicago area will help raise money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation by donating 100 percent of its dessert sales on this day to the foundation.

Faculty recital: The North Central College music department will present a faculty recital, "An Evening at the Theatre," at 7 p.m. in Koten Chapel at Kiekhofer Hall, 329 E. School St., Naperville. The recital will feature Victoria Verhoven and James Schopp performing a variety of pieces from opera, operetta and musical theatre. Art exhibit: Fifteen graduating art majors at North Central College will display photography, drawings, sculptures, paintings and more in a senior art show titled "Inspired." Exhibits will be on display in the Galleries at Oesterle Library, 320 E. School St., and Meiley-Swallow Hall, 31 S. Ellsworth St., Naperville. Opening receptions will be held in both galleries from 1 to 3 p.m. today. The exhibits and receptions are free.
