Painted violin collection: The collection of Painted Violins from the Fox Valley Academy of Music Performance will be on display at the Naperville Art League, 508 N. Center St., Naperville, through May 16. This exhibit will serve as a prescreening for the Academy of Music Performance's 2008 fundraising auction to be held June 26. Concert in the Park: SS Peter and Paul School and St. Raphael School invite area residents to an 11:30 a.m. "Spring Concert in the Park" at the Central Park Bandshell, downtown Naperville. Three conductors will be working with the students - special guest conductor, professor and Band Director Dr. Kenneth Dye from the University of Notre Dame; Naperville's Municipal Band Director Ron Keller, and Rene Rosas, band director for both schools.
Genealogists: Fox Valley Genealogical Society's meeting is "Reading the Landscape: The Illinois and Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor," presented at 7:30 p.m. by Dennis Cremin. The meeting will take place at the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St., Naperville.
Trolley tour: In honor of Naperville's Community Heritage Month, Naperville Trolley and Tours is offering historic trolley tours. A tour will be given today at 6 p.m. Participants should meet for the one-hour tour at Jackson Avenue and Webster Street. Cost is $8 for adults; $5 for children. Chapel service: North Central College will hold its weekly chapel service at noon in Koten Chapel at Kiekhofer Hall, 329 E. School St., Naperville. This week will feature Diane Nilan, founder of Hear Us!, a national organization focused on helping homeless youth. American Motherhood and Childbirth: North Central College will host a screening of the documentary "The Business of Being Born" at 6 p.m. in Goldspohn Hall, 31 N. Loomis St., Naperville.
