Man hurt when motorcycle towing plan fails

May 6, 2008

One man was hurt after he lost control of the motorcycle he was riding, which was being towed by another car, at 7:51 p.m. Monday near Montgomery and Ridge roads, Aurora police said.

Selva Kumar, 41, of the 3600 block of Hector Lane, Naperville, was treated and released from Rush-Copley Medical Center after he was thrown from the motorcycle he was riding, police said.

The bike had died so Kumar was riding it, while it was towed by a car, connected by a 7-foot rope, police said. Kumar was charged with no insurance and improper riding a motorcycle, police said.

The other driver, Velamoor Venkatesan, 46, of the 4000 block of Heron Court, Naperville, was charged with unlawful towing of a motorcycle, police said.
