Naperville considers laying off up to 57
The Naperville City Council is considering laying off 25.5 to 57 employees to close an estimated $11.2 million general fund budget deficit in fiscal year 2011. The city expects layoffs to save between $1.9 million and $4.3 million. No official decision has been made.

The song of a soldier's sister

April 24, 2007

Editor's note: Along with Pfc. Jason Henderson's latest e-mail, we publish a poem composed by Jason's sister, McCall, a Naperville Central student.

Saying Goodbye

Dedicated to my brother, Jason Henderson

Here I stand before you

Through my eyes you are the most brave,

Courageous person I have ever known

You are my hero

You wipe away my tears when I am sad

You tell me everything will be alright

I trust you with every ounce of my body

Here I stand in shock

The tears fall like a giant waterfall

Why can't I stop?

Because I love you that's why

I love you so much

I love you from here

All the way up to the farthest star

And back down again

That's how much I love you

"Just close your eyes and count to ten,

Then everything will be wonderful again"

You told me that

I tried

I concentrated real hard too

But it didn't seem to work

I am still standing here all alone

You aren't home again

You have left

Without you the oceans crash

The crowds roar

The days soar

The babies cry

But I die, Without you

Goodbye Jason

See you soon

Take good care of yourself now

McCall
