Two arrested in Glen Ellyn shooting

November 10, 2009

Two admitted gang members were arrested Nov. 9 in connection with a shooting Oct. 23 in an unincorporated area near Glen Ellyn.

Alejandro Roman, 18, of Chicago, and James R. Kral, 20, of the 22W400 block of Cherry Lane in an unincorporated area near Glen Ellyn, have been charged with two counts of attempted first degree murder, two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm and one count of home invasion.

On Oct. 23, the DuPage County Sheriff's Office received an emergency call from a resident who lived on the 800 block of Busch Road in an unincorporated area near Glen Ellyn.

A man, 23, and woman, 20, were shot in their home on Busch Road and taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. A third victim, a 24-year-old man, did not require medical assistance.

According to sheriff's detectives, the two suspects admitted to being members of the Latin Kings gang.

Roman and Kral are being held in the DuPage County Jail on $1 million bonds.

Sheriff's detectives are continuing the investigation of the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 630-407-2400.
