Cops: Motorcyclist going 112 mph in a 45

NAPERVILLE -- A 20-year-old Naperville motorcyclist's efforts to get somewhere in a hurry were thwarted when an officer clocked him traveling 112 mph in a 45-mph speed zone Tuesday night.

A Naperville police officer spotted the motorcycle traveling south on Route 59 near 95th Street at an extremely high rate of speed about 9:50 p.m., according to a Naperville police release.

The red 2004 Honda CBR1000 motorcycle, driven by 20-year-old Eric Miller, was clocked on radar traveling 112 mph in a 45-mph zone, the release said. The officer activated the police vehicle's emergency lights, causing the motorcycle to slow down.

Miller, of 1327 Modaff Road, was stopped at Route 59 and Rollingridge Road, the release said. He was arrested on a a Class A misdemeanor charge of speeding more than 40 mph over the posted speed limit and was released on bond.
