Lecture: North Central College welcomes special agent Robert C. Yalden with the U.S. Secret Service to give a talk as part of the college's Leadership Roundtable Lecture Series. He will speak at 5:30 p.m. in Smith Hall at Old Main, 30 N. Brainard St. The lecture series is free and deals with issues in education such as funding, management and safety, and is part of a graduate program at North Central for teachers considering advancement to school administration. Tuesday

Open house: Prospective students and their parents are invited to learn about North Central College's Lederman Scholars, a program for gifted high school-aged students who can earn up to two years of college credit at North Central while still in high school. An informational open house will be held at the college from 6 to 8 p.m. in Smith Hall at Old Main, 30 N. Brainard St., Naperville. Students who are home-schooled and from all area high schools are eligible to apply; admission to the Lederman Scholars program is based on academic ability. Baha'i devotional: The Baha'is of Naperville will host the next in their monthly spiritual devotionals on the theme "Communion with God" at 7:30 p.m. at the DuPage Unitarian Universalist Church, 4 S. Old Naperville Road. The event is free. All are welcome.

Danada Horse-Drawn Hayrides: Enjoy a 30-minute horse-drawn hayride through the prairies and woodlands of Danada Forest Preserve, and learn about the features of this historic preserve from 5 to 7:15 p.m. at Danada Equestrian Center, 3S503 Naperville Road in Wheaton. $5 per adult, $2 per child ages 5 to 12, children under 5 free.
