Reason for seeking office: I decided to seek the office of recorder of deeds four years ago based on my background, knowledge and experience, and that's why I'm seeking re-election now. My background is an A.A. degree in business management and a B.A. concentrating in business administration. I have more than 23 years of full-time experience in Will County government, much of it in management and policy setting. In addition, I have been a licensed Realtor for more than 16 years, as well as a property manager, with experience in the real estate industry and the recorder's office.

Karen Stukel
Party: Democratic

Hometown: Shorewood

Government experience: Will County circuit clerk, deputy clerk in aggravated traffic

Community-related activities: Cathedral of St. Raymond; Morning Star Mission; American Cancer Society; United Way

Reason for seeking office: I can do a better job. I will bring a full-time recorder of deeds back to Will County. I promise I will address the problems with the computer system and will work toward making the Internet site more user-friendly.
