- Festival in Lights Holiday Extraganza: Activities begin at 3 p.m. on Nov. 14 and continue throughout the afternoon ending with the lighting of The Promenade Bolingbrook's massive Christmas tree and the first Symphony in Lights show of the 2009 holiday season. Symphony in Lights features more than 250,000 LED lights embedded in thousands of feet of holiday foliage and choreographed to the music of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Festival in Lights activities will include horse and carriage rides, Santa tent, gingerbread contest, kids holiday crafts, holiday storytelling, ice sculpture demonstration, live reindeers, live Nativity scene and mitten and food drive. The Symphony in Lights Show will continue nightly throughout the holiday season every hour beginning at dusk, 6 p.m., 7 p.m., 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. until Dec. 31. The Promenade is at 631 E. The excitement builds as Santa arrives to light the big tree on Main Street at Crescent Boulevard at 6 p.m. Afterwards, Santa will greet children at Fire Station No. 1 on Pennsylvania Avenue and Main Street.
