Our community: Walk to Remember raises $22K

Walk to Remember raises $22,000
Naperville's fifth annual A Walk to Remember, held on Oct. 17, raised over $22,000 for the development of the Wings of Hope Angel Garden at Edward Hospital and the Edward Foundation SHARE Program.

Construction of the garden began the first week in October and is scheduled to be completed by late spring 2010.

More than 400 people attended the event. The sixth annual A Walk to Remember is scheduled for Oct. 16, 2010. Visit www.napervillewalktoremember.org .

Celebration of Peace
North Central College will host "We Are One," a free multicultural performance that caps a monthlong Celebration of Peace in Naperville.

"We Are One" will be presented at 7 p.m. Nov. 14 in Wentz Concert Hall at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville. Admission is free.

The performance features music and dance styles representing cultures from around the world. The third annual Celebration of Peace is spearheaded by Naperville-based ThinkGlobal Arts Foundation. Visit www.thinkglobalarts.org or call 630-697-4441.

Craft show
Members and friends of the Book and Paper Guild will have their seventh annual fine art and craft show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The show takes place at the historic Warren Tavern, 3 S 540 Second St., Warrenville. The show includes the products of local artists who work in a variety of mediums, including glass, paper, fiber, botanicals, pottery and more. Home accessory items, hand-bound books, journals, cards, original art, ornaments, pottery, jewelry, hand knits and other items will be featured.
