Park District briefs: Rock climbing

Rock climbing
Enjoy a fun night out with your family at Warrenville's Vertical Endeavors.

No experience necessary. One parent or guardian over the age of 18 must register and accompany children. Parents must sign an additional waiver at the facility. Registration will be taken through the Thursday before the class.

At 5:30 p.m. Nov. 14. Cost is $22 residents; $33 nonresidents.

Parents' Night Out
Are Mom and Dad heading out for the evening? Then join us for some fun of your own with crafts, gym games, pizza and a video.

Dates are Nov. 20 and Dec. 4, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. At Mary Lou Cowlishaw Elementary School, 1212 Sanctuary Lane.

Cost is $19 residents; $29 nonresidents.

Millennium Carillon tours
Climb the 253 steps or ride the elevation to the observation deck and enjoy a spectacular view that stretches for miles.

Learn about the history of Naperville, the Riverwalk and the Carillon at the Visitor Center. 2009 tour hours of operation are Saturdays and Sundays through Nov. 21, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Millennium Carillon Moser Tower and Visitor Center is located along the Naperville Riverwalk near Rotary Hill. Admission is $3 for ages 5 and older; children ages 4 and younger are admitted free. Anyone younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Candy cane hunt
At 9:30 a.m. Dec. 5 at the Barn, kids will have a festive time making a craft, playing games, enjoying refreshments and partaking in other winter fun. Then head outside to search for hidden candy canes.

Prizes will be awarded to those who find the largest ones. Preregistration is required by Dec. 1.

Cost is $14 for residents; $21 for nonresidents.

The Park District's Winter 2010 Program Guide will be delivered to Naperville doorsteps beginning Nov. 14. If you do not receive yours, call 630-848-5000 to request a prompt re-delivery. A pdf version also will be available at www.napervilleparks.org.
