Friends of Steph Raffle and Silent Auction: Through the month of October, there will be a variety of ways to donate to the Friends of Steph Breast Cancer Awareness Drive, held in memory of Steph Lesiecki in order to benefit her research fund at Rush University Medical Center. Black Cat Ball: The Naperville Area Humane Society will hold its annual Black Cat Ball gala beginning with cocktails at 6 p.m., followed by a dinner, program and live auction at 7 p.m. Guests will enjoy entertainment by the Michael Heaton Band. Weather permitting, dogs from the society will greet guests as they arrive at Meson Sabika, 1025 Aurora Ave., Naperville. Tickets are $160 per person; tables of ten are $1,600.

Sunrise Winter Clothing Drive: The Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise is placing boxes in the community to receive donations of coats, jackets, hats, gloves, scarves and mittens. The drive runs through Nov. 20. For locations, call 630-778-6372.

Share the Abundance Food Drive: Chiro One Wellness Centers is joining the fight against hunger by hosting its fourth annual Share the Abundance Food Drive to collect nonperishable food items to be given to the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Rally for Ryan: This fundraiser on behalf of Ryan Karlin, a 7-year-old Naperville boy living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), will raise funds for the Ryan Foundation for finding a cure for DMD. Festival 2009 French Quarter Ball: Looking for a taste of New Orleans? Lung Cancer Walk and Rally: The seventh annual walk and rally will take place at the Grand Pavilion at the Naperville Riverwalk. Breakfast is at 8:30 a.m. and registration begins at 9 a.m. At 10 a.m. a physician will present information on the newest lung cancer research, followed immediately by the walk. The walk is free.
