The Monster Jam Monster Truck event is ready to explode onto the scene this weekend at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, and a business in Naperville -- yes, Naperville -- is gearing up to make tracks. Feld Motor Sports, in the Wheatland Business Park in the far western reaches of Naperville, will have no fewer than seven entries in the three-day series of events.

Naperville coping with latest snowstorm
Tuesday's snow storm slowed commuting and canceled after-school events, but caused few other problems in Naperville. A myriad of after-school clubs, practices, games and even detentions were canceled throughout the area Tuesday in anticipation of the snow yet to come.

Foes press county to reverse Navistar OK
Opponents of the proposed relocation of Navistar International Corp. to Lisle continued this week to press the DuPage County Board to revoke its approval of the project. Three of the project's foes addressed the board Tuesday, tackling issues including public health, taxpayer burden and corporate integrity in stating their case against the planned redevelopment of the former Alcatel-Lucent property on Warrenville Road in Lisle.

Benet proves itself worthy
Benet's No. 1 goal is to win the East Suburban Catholic Conference. But the Redwings had one more thing to prove in their last non-conference game. They wanted to prove to be a worthy opponent. Critics said that Wheaton Academy had not played tough competition, but Benet proved to be more than worthy as the Redwings brought ESCC-style basketball to Wheaton Academy on Tuesday night.
Pieces falling into place for Wildcats
As we head into sectionals, the pieces are falling into place very nicely for the Neuqua Valley boys swimming and diving team. Last Saturday, the Wildcats won nine events to secure their fifth straight Upstate Eight Conference Championship with 418 points to second place Waubonsie Valley's 353.

Sinbad's happy to keep on working
Not much is off limits for Sinbad in his act — he'll talk about "almost everything." Comedians get fodder for their acts from life, and the world today is ripe with inspiration. "In today's age? Please. It's hard to shut it down," he said. The comedian will bring his brand of comedy to the Rialto Square Theatre in Joliet Saturday for an 8 p.m. show.
