Lisle girls squad reaches sectional

The Lisle girls cross country team advanced to sectional competition after finishing fourth at Oct. 24's Luther North Regional in Chicago.

Lisle racked up 95 points, just two points away from third-place Timothy Christian.

Top finisher for the Lions was freshman Christine Young, who placed fifth on the three-mile LaBagh Woods Forest Preserve course in 19 minutes, 47.1 seconds.

Teammates that followed were Sarah Spiel (eighth-20:16), Lexi Britton (26th-21:29), Renee Desitter (27th-21:30), Sara Ruthberg (29th-21:36) and Rebecca Ruthberg (43rd-23:10).

On the boys side at LaBagh Woods on Oct 24, Lisle senior Greg Danner advanced to Oct. 31's Aurora Christian Sectional with a 19th-place 16:52.3.

The Aurora Christian Sectional will take place at Oakhurst Forest Preserve in Aurora. Girls race is at 11 a.m., followed by the boys' event at 11:45 a.m.
