Restaurant to hold fundraiser

Max & Erma's restaurant at 2020 W. 75th St., Woodridge, is hosting a fundraiser for SEASPAR from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Nov. 12.

Diners can present a ticket to have 20 percent of sales go toward SEASPAR's Booster Club. Tickets are available at www.seaspar.org or at the SEASPAR office at 4500 Belmont Road in Downers Grove.

The SEASPAR Booster Club is made up of families and friends of SEASPAR who help raise funds for athletic programs. It provides uniforms, equipment, lodging at state competitions and the annual sports banquet for athletes.

SEASPAR provides year-round recreation services for individuals with disabilities and is an extension of the park districts of Clarendon Hills, Darien, Downers Grove, LaGrange, LaGrange Park, Lisle, Westmont, and Woodridge, and the villages of Brookfield, Indian Head Park and Western Springs.

Benedictine will present recital

The Benedictine University Department of Music will present its semiannual "Festival of the Arts" Nov. 7 and 8, at Scholl Hall on the Benedictine campus and at St. Daniel Hall at Benet Academy.

The festival begins with a recital by students in the preparatory music program and applied students at 1 p.m. Nov. 7 in Room 101 at Scholl Hall. The Benedictine University Concert Band, under the direction of Maryann Flock, will perform at 4 p.m. Nov. 8 at St. Daniel Hall, followed at 7:30 p.m. by recitals by juniors Stefanie Lostumbo (clarinet) and Meagan Walsh (bass clarinet) in Room 101 at Scholl Hall.

Event to address end-of-life issues

A panel discussion of end-of-life issues will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 12 at St. Joan of Arc Church, 820 Division Street, Lisle. Panelists include Patrick Flynn, ethicist; Sharon Pelton, physician; Kathleen Irving, psychologist; Cindy Witschorik, hospice nurse; John Paul Sweeney, attorney and Joe Dalpiaz, church deacon. Bulb recycling program launched

The Lisle Convention & Visitors Bureau has established an in-house compact fluorescent light bulb recycling program.

Residents may bring in any expired, unbroken CFL bulbs to the Lisle Convention & Visitors Bureau office, 4746 Main St., from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Visit www.stayinlisle.com or call 800-733-9811.

Conference will focus on finance

National-Louis University's Center for Positive Aging is hosting the second "It's Your Money, Your Life" financial security conference from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Lisle campus, 850 Warrenville Road.

Speakers include Michael Knight of Knight Investment Planning and a registered life planner of the Kinder Institute, Ryan Gruenenfelder, associate state director of AARP Illinois, and Sam Nelson, director of client relations with the Illinois Student Assistance Commission.
