Battery recycling: Now available at the library. Drop off single-use household batteries near library entrance. This program is being offered by Will County Land Use Department.

Mystery book discussion: 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. the second Monday of each month.

Movie programs: 7 p.m. the first Friday of each month. The adult department offers Women Watching Movies on the first Friday of each month at 7 p.m., the young adult department sponsors a movie night on the third Friday of the month and the children's department has Saturday matinee movie on the fourth Saturday of the month. All programs are free and require advance registration.

Veterans Day program: 1-3 p.m. Nov. 7. Music from World War I and II in honor of veterans. Donald Molinari and Joni Hoerger will perform World War I and II popular songs, along with historical background and anecdotes from that era. Books on war, historical items, sheet music, flags and artifacts will be on display. There will also be artifacts from World War II belonging to a group of local World War II re-enactors. A souvenir program will be handed out to all who attend. Lincoln-Way Composite Squadron U.S. Air Force Civil Air Patrol will present colors.

The legacy girls: 1-2 p.m. Nov. 14. The Legacy Girls invite you to take a sentimental journey back to the '40s as they perform hits of the legendary Andrew Sisters.

Adult book discussion group: 7-8:30 p.m. Nov. 19. The next book to read is "River Thieves" by Michael Crummey.

Learning mobile: 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 20. Workforce Services of Will County will have its Mobile Learning Center at the library. There is access to job databases, including Illinois skills Match, Monster.com and CareerBuilder.

Presentation: 1-2 p.m. Nov. 21. A video presentation about a World War II bombing mission over Germany.

Internet classes: For adults age 18 and older. To set up appointment times, call Cathy Palmer.

Adult writers workshop: 2-3 p.m. the third Monday of each month in the adult reading room. Light refreshments served.

Word basics: 5:30 p.m. Nov. 2. For adults. A laptop will be provided for use during the class. Registration is required.

Don't pay the college sticker price: 6-7 p.m. Nov. 5. Presented by Joe Orsolini, certified college planning specialist. Learn how a college education may become more affordable and less of a financial burden. Registration is requested.

Program: 6-7 p.m. Nov. 10. "Starting Your Investing Journey." The four part Investing 101 series will be presented by Katie Freeman of Edward Jones. Registration is requested.

Moving down the road to financial goals: 6-7 p.m. Nov. 12. Provides participants with the principles of sound investing. Registration is required.

Arriving at retirement: 6-7 p.m. Nov. 17. Provides participants who are nearing or in retirement with guidelines to help achieve a successful retirement experience. Registration is required.

Establishing your legacy: 6-7 p.m. Nov. 19. Session provides an introduction to estate-planning terms and outlines the necessary steps to take. Registration is requested.

Excel basics: 5:30 p.m. Dec. 1. For adults. A laptop will be provided for use during the class. Registration is required.

Busy moms book club: 10:30-11:30 a.m. Dec. 7, "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett; Feb. 1, "Firefly Lane" by Kristin Hannah; April 12, "Until We Reach Home" by Lynn Austin.

Monthly meeting: 6:15 p.m. doors open; 6:45 p.m. business meeting and 7 p.m. program begins on Nov. 5. "The History of Science" as told by Mark Twain. Guest speaker is Warren Brown portraying Mark Twain. Sponsored by Tinley Moraine Genealogists. The written and spoken words of Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) addressing the "History of Science" will give insight into the 19th century and the thoughts and humor experienced by our ancestors. Brown has been a Twain scholar for many years. This program is made possible by funding from the Illinois Humanities Council.
