Briefs: Soup does bodies good

ROMEOVILLE -- Lewis University hopes to raise awareness and funds through an Art for Good/Empty Bowls project from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the University Dining Room.

The public is invited to donate $10 for soup and a painted bowl. The bowls were painted by members of the Lewis community in the summer and fall during events.

All proceeds will go to Morning Star Mission, Daybreak Homeless Shelter and University Ministry. The goal is raise $2,000 for the agencies and the outreach ministries of Lewis' University Ministry.

Job fair Wednesday
JOLIET -- Catholic Charities Daybreak Center and Early Childhood Services will host its 10th annual job fair from 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Daybreak Center, 611 E. Cass St.

Many local area employers representing jobs in warehousing, health care, banking, social services and more will be present. Employment consultants will also be available to answer questions.

Participants are encouraged to bring a resume and dress appropriately.
