BASEBALL

BRAIDWOOD CAMP: Former Reed-Custer High School and Kansas City Royals outfielder Les Norman will conduct his second annual baseball/softball clinic and coaches clinic Dec. 12-13 at Reed-Custer. The coaches clinic will be from 6-9 p.m. Dec. 12 and will cost $25 per coach. Topics include hitting, defense, pitching, catching and a question-and-answer session. The baseball clinic is from 9-11 a.m. Dec. 13 for ages 11-under and 1-4 p.m. Dec. 13 for ages 12-over. The softball clinic for all ages will be from 5-7 p.m. Dec. 13. The clinic is participatory. Norman will teach all sessions. Also, new motivational and character building sessions, video clips and more will be included. The cost is $55 if preregistered by No. 28 or $65 thereafter. JOLIET WEST CAMP: The Joliet West winter baseball camp for players 6-14 is scheduled from 1-3 p.m. on five Sundays -- Jan. 4, 11, 18, 25 and Feb. 1 -- in the Joliet West Field House. Topics include infield, outfield, pitching, catching, hitting and baserunning. The cost is $100 for five weeks individually, $85 each in group of three or more, all paying together, and $50 for each addition family member. Make checks payable to Joliet West Baseball. SOFTBALL

JJC HITTING CAMP: Hitting camp dates are Nov. 8, Nov. 22, Dec. 13, Dec. 20, Jan. 10, Jan. 24, Feb. 7 and Feb. 21. Hitting times, which are one-hour sessions and will progress each week, begin at noon and conclude 5-6 p.m. at JJC's Rend Lake building. It is for girls ages 10-18. Total cost if $256 ($32 per lesson). A second child will cost $195. Payments can be made with cash or check. Payments can be made in full or split in half paying the deposit ($128) now and the remaining $128 on the first lesson. SPEED

GRAF SPEED ENHANCEMENT: Year-round speed camp at Joliet Junior College, with open enrollment. Group training is $20, $10 for additional family members. Private lessons and team lessons available.
