SHOREWOOD -- The Troy 14-year-old Pony All-Stars concluded a 3-0 run in the Troy Section with a 15-5 win over Manteno in the championship game.
Jake Sale and Carson Neushwander combined to pitch the win. Sale, who had 2 hits, picked up the win.
Also collecting 2 hits were T.J. Lambert, Neushwander, Cody Borneman, John Young and Tyler Patterson.
Troy advances to the Kankakee Region which starts Thursday.
Team America then concluded the trip to Japan with a 12-7 win over Making. Michael Van Pelt pitched 4 innings. Joe Harrman homered and drove in 4 runs.
Former Lockport coach Jim Hall was a coach for Team America.
Crest Hill Pony Section -- Crest Hill won the title with a 9-5 win over Chicago AFCA.
Zack Wolfe, Eric DeLoach and Tom Isherwood combined to strike out 16 for Crest Hill, which advances to the Oak Park Region. They will play Ingalls Park, a 5-4 winner over Woodridge, at 5:45 p.m. Thursday.
DeLoach homered and singled to lead the offense, while Wolfe tripled and singled. Isherwood added a straight steal of home.
Ingalls Park 14U Section -- Ingalls Park won the title with a 5-4 win over Woodridge. Ingalls Park trailed by a run in the bottom of the seventh, but Ronnie Amstead hit a 2-run double to lift the team to victory. Chuck Dickey and Matt Bolton combined for the win.
Earlier in the tournament, Ingalls Park defeated Blue Island 10-9 and beat Woodridge 12-2. Amstead drove home the winning run in the seventh against Blue Island, while Dickey and Kyle Ward homered against Woodridge and Miguel Diaz had a pair of doubles.
Ingalls Park takes on Crest Hill at the Oak Park Region at 5:45 p.m. Thursday.
Bolingbrook Mustang 10U Section -- Channahon beat Whiteford 5-4 in 7 innings. Larry Roberts and Joe Butler combined for 10 strikeouts. Butler doubled while Eddie Sandal and Jeremy Kenyon had 2 hits. Tyler Fitzgerald, Blake Parzych and Roberts had key hits.
Crest Hill 10U Section -- Crest Hill defeated Coal City 17-2 to win the title. Matt Taller and Kody Block had 3 hits each to lead Crest Hill. Matt Giaudrone and A.J. Lesure also contributed 2 hits each. Nolan Edwards pitched the victory, throwing a 3-hitter with 7 strikeouts.
Crest Hill advances to the Oak Park Region which starts on Thursday.
Studer was one of 2,813 entrants attempting to qualify for 82 spots in the Open. He finished second in a qualifier in Wisconsin, shooting 69.
Tom Robinson won the qualifier with a round of 67, and Studer tied with Tim O'Brien with 69. Studer then birdies the second playoff hole to earn the bid to the Open.
It is the second U.S. Senior Open for Studer, who also qualified in 2004.
Christopher Pavlopoulos finished in the top 10 in sparring and forms.
