The visiting RedHawks spotted JCA (9-5-4, 3-5) a 1-0 lead midway through the second half when Hilltopper senior Jon Pullara connected off an assist from junior Antonio Alvarez.

"Marist is a quality team," said JCA coach Chuck Bernard. "They are as good as anybody we have played all year."

JCA sophomore goalkeeper Mike Williams had 11 saves. The Hilltoppers are off until opening state tournament play against Lincoln-Way East next Wednesday at the Class AA Lincoln-Way Central Regional.
