October 29, 2009

JOLIET -- The Joliet JackHammers have announced their 2010 regular-season schedule, which includes 50 home games. The Hammers will begin play Friday, May 21, in Fargo, N.D., against the defending Northern League champion Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks.

Then, on Friday, May 28, the Hammers open their home schedule against the new Lake County Fielders. Following a three-game series with the Fielders, the Hammers will entertain the Rockford RiverHawks in a four-game series.

With two new expansion teams, the Northern League has arranged for each team to play 100 games in 110 days, with 50 games at home and 50 away. Monday through Wednesday games will begin at 6:10 p.m., Thursday through Saturday games will begin at 7:10, and Sunday games will begin at 2:10. June 2 and July 1 home games will begin at 11:10 a.m. for School Day and Day Camp Day.

The JackHammers will be home for the holidays -- Memorial Day against the RiverHawks on May 31, Fourth of July against the Winnipeg Goldeyes, and Labor Day against the Gary RailCats Sept. 6, which will conclude regular-season play. All holiday games will start at 5:10. In addition, the JackHammers will be home to celebrate Father's Day at 2:10 June 20.
