-- Niko Capodice, Minooka, junior, catcher: All-Southwest Prairie selection his .287 with 3 homers and 25 RBIs, did an excellent job defensively and threw out 50 percent of potential base stealers.

-- Andrew Cecchi, JCA, junior, third baseman: Described by Hilltoppers coach Jared Voss as an ideal 2-hitter hitting third, his average reached .350 after getting 3 of JCA's 4 hits in 3A title game.

-- Andrew Dunn, Seneca, junior, third baseman: Hit .411 with 5 doubles and led team with 33 RBIs, including 4 games with 4 RBIs.

-- Josh Ferry, Lemont, sophomore, outfielder/pitcher: Hit .377 with 5 doubles, 2 triples, 1 home run and was 3-4 in 40 innings of pitching with a 3.85 ERA.

-- Creighton Goss, Plainfield C., senior, outfielder: Excellent defensive center fielder, who will continue soccer career at Benedictine University, hit .340 with 31 runs scored and 10 stolen bases.

-- Matt Grimler, Gardner/SW, junior, shortstop: Leadoff man hit .452 with 6 doubles, 1 triple, 5 home runs and 33 RBIs, and was 15-for-15 in stolen bases.

-- Matt Heizer, JT, senior, third baseman: Hit .345 with 6 doubles, 3 home runs, 25 RBIs and .505 on-base percentage.

-- Matt Hemmer, Plainfield C., senior, outfielder: Hit .381 from leadoff slot with 5 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 6 stolen bases, 40 runs scored and covered lots of ground in right field.

-- Tom Ksiazak, Plainfield South, senior, DH: All-Southwest Prairie choice hit .395 with a .593 slugging percentage, 2 home runs, 1 triple, 9 doubles, 22 RBIs and stole 25 bases in 26 attempts.

-- Kyle Lenihan, Romeoville, sophomore, third baseman/shortstop: Hit .336 with 2 home runs, team-leading 11 doubles and 22 RBIs, plus went 2-0 as a pitcher with a 1.58 ERA.

-- Josh Marszalek, Lockport, junior, outfielder: Hit .356 with 6 doubles, 3 home runs, 9 sacrifices (including 3 squeezes), 21 RBIs, .446 on-base percentage and .505 slugging percentage.

-- Jeff Paulson, Plainfield N., junior, first baseman: Described by coach John Darlington as "a typical gym rat when it comes to baseball," he hit .363 with 9 doubles, 1 home run and 28 RBIs.

-- Chris Robinson, Reed-Custer, senior, pitcher/shortstop: Three-year varsity starter and All-Interstate Eight pick hit .357 with 5 doubles, 3 triples, 3 home runs, 17 RBIs, .443 on-base percentage and .536 slugging percentage.

-- Derek Siadak, Lincoln-Way E., senior, outfielder: All-Southwest Suburban Red center fielder and Griffins leadoff man hit .308 with 4 doubles, a home run and a .427 on-base percentage.

-- Tom Taylor, Coal City, junior, outfielder: Hit .409 with 8 doubles, 2 triples, 4 home runs and 28 RBIs, leading team in runs, hits, doubles, triples, home runs and average.

-- Rick Tilquist, Lincoln-Way C., senior, pitcher: Trinity College bound right-hander went 3-2 with 3.03 ERA and 33 strikeouts in 37 innings

-- Sam Travis, Providence, sophomore, third baseman: Hit .369 after early promotion to varsity with 6 doubles, 1 home run and 16 RBIs and went 3-0 as a pitcher.

-- Jake Van Duyne, Wilmington, junior, pitcher: All-Interstate Eight pick went 7-2 pitching with a 3.76 ERA and hit .440 with 8 doubles, 3 triples, 4 home runs, 14 sotlen bases, 27 RBIs, .504 on-base percentage and .700 slugging mark.

-- Grant Van Haelst, Reed-Custer, sophomore, pitcher/center fielder: All-Interstate Eight pick led Comets with 7 home runs and a .400 batting average and went 5-2 on the mound with a staff-high 61 strikeouts and 3.55 ERA in 45 1/3 innings.

-- Colin Webb, Wilmington, junior, first baseman: All-Interstate Eight pick and touted football quarterback hit .373 with 8 home runs, 46 RBIs and .676 slugging percentage.

-- Chris Williams, Bolingbrook, junior outfielder: All-Southwest Suburban Blue choice hit .320 with .410 on-base percentage, stole 8 bases in 9 attempts and was a team leader.
