Minooka beats Bradley-Bourbonnais
MINOOKA -- Jacki Kaluzny's strong net play powered the Minooka High School volleyball team past Bradley-Bourbonnais in a 4A regional semifinal on Wednesday night.
Kaluzny pounded out a team-high 6 kills as the Indians (21-9-1) swept past the Braves 25-15, 25-19.
"It was a good first-round game for us," Minooka coach Jill Nehring said. "We will have to play a better all-around game on Saturday."
On Saturday, the Indians will travel to Moline for a 1 p.m. match in the regional final. They will face Moline or East Moline. The two Quad Cities rivals square off at 6 p.m. today.
Alex Hill added 5 kills for Minooka. Lyndsay Kooi dished out 18 assists. She also had 3 kills. Brooke VanAsdlen finished with 3 blocks.
Brea Rivera had 3 digs and 3 aces.
