Minooka Junior High dean resigning

October 30, 2009

MINOOKA -- William Geasa, dean and athletic director at Minooka Junior High, tendered his resignation at the Minooka Grade School Board meeting Wednesday night. Geasa will leave the district at the end of the 2009-2010 school year.

The board accepted his resignation with regret, said board President Jim Satorius.

Geasa has been with the district for four years. His decision to leave is based on personal factors, he said.

He lives near Kankakee and his wife works at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais. He has accepted the position of principal of Tri-Point High School in Cullom, a small farming community southwest of Herscher.

Geasa said his departure is a positive one and he wants to stay focused on his students between now and the end of the school year.

"I am delighted with this district and how it helped me to grow," Geasa said.

Superintendent Al Gegenheimer, in a statement the following day, said the resignation was accepted with great regret.

"He is a terrific person that will be missed sorely," Gegenheimer said. "We wish him the best and have no doubt that he will be a great success in his new job next year as a high school principal."
