Teens busted in burglaries

November 5, 2009

JOLIET TOWNSHIP -- Five teens were arrested last week after being linked to burglaries this summer in the Sugar Creek subdivision.

Will County Sheriff's police said the bust resulted from speaking with Joliet police after they arrested two teens.

"Our Crime Scene Investigation division used fingerprints Joliet police had collected to compare with partial latent prints found during the Sugar Creek burglaries and one of those juveniles was brought in for questioning after a match was determined," spokesman Pat Barry said.

The suspect reportedly named the other four involved and all of them admitted their involvement in the burglaries. After being arrested and booked into the River Valley Juvenile Detention Center, the five teens, who are between 13- and 16-years-old, were released to their parents' custody.

"No stolen property has been recovered, so the investigation is continuing," Barry said.
