Gaspar column wrong

I read George Gaspar's column, and I don't agree with what he wrote. I voted for George W. Bush and was glad he was in for eight years. I did not vote for Barack Obama. I thought his agenda was too extreme. Obama hasn't taken care of the right things. I believe John McCain's agenda was much more attainable without the mess we're in now. Is that right, left or just common sense?

Decide on troops

It seems the government doesn't think it's important enough to send our troops what they need in Afghanistan immediately, while the leaders here sit safely in America because of our troops. Our top advisers in Afghanistan see the daily effects and know what is needed. This country better wake up and figure out what's really important.

Nazis not right wing

First, George Gaspar wastes newspaper space trying to equate Republicans to the Nazis, who were not right wing as is so often commented. The Nazis were simply another form of extreme left-wingism. Then just to top it all off and destroy reputations worldwide, the Nobel Peace Prize is given to a president who has done nothing except teeter this nation on the brink of disaster. May God help us.

Guns, cars don't mix

The Illinois Supreme Court has ruled that it's legal for gun owners to store weapons in the console of their automobiles. Yeah, that's a good idea.

Good business lost

It's very sad that the city of Joliet would not allow a tattoo shop on Jefferson Street, which would be a good business, when in the same area alleged drug dealers are arrested.

Comparison wrong

George Gaspar's Common Sense column falsely equated conservative Republicans with fascists. Conservatives want to follow our Constitution of, by and for the people and are concerned about Barack Obama's philosophy, not his race. I noticed that Obama talks and acts like a communist dictator, nationalizing everything he can. This is not surprising since Obama had a communist mentor and followed the methods of a far left-wing organizer while working with ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. Gaspar misquoted Rush Limbaugh, who only wanted Obama's reform to fail if capitalism and individual liberty are not its foundation.

Seniors need food

I read that about holiday basket applications being available. How about having holiday baskets available for senior citizens instead of always to families? Seniors have to eat, too.
