Money woes mar Halloween

I think it's really sad that city officials in Crest Hill have decided that they can't afford to pay two city workers for an hour of time on a Saturday to put up barricades so that the Chaney Monge band can put on its Halloween parade that has been done every year. Also, we were told that room parties were canceled by the school because Halloween is on the weekend. We're basically out of luck.

Flag symbol of Tennessee

I'm calling about Richard Kolody's OpenLine comment about the high school student wearing the Confederate flag bandana. The Confederate flag is not a racial symbol. It is actually a Tennessee state battle flag from back during the Civil War. I'm a Civil War re-enactor and that flag does not have any connection to racial attitudes.
