Pet expo: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 10, Tinley Park Convention Center. Event includes rescue societies and pet food suppliers. Information available on raw food diet. Entertainment will include demonstrations by Cold Blooded Creatures, a pet cover search contest and parrot demonstrations by Ollie's. There will be a giveaway for a $500 shopping spree and trip for four to a Florida resort. Admission is free for children younger than 12 and $4 for adults. Adoptathon and garden sale: Noon to 4:30 p.m. May 10, Will County Humane Society, 24109 W. Seil Road, Shorewood. During this year's event, we'd like to find homes for our many furry friends at the shelter. There will be a variety of flowering plants and vegetables in pots and flats for sale. Agility Beginners Fun Run: Starting at 8:30 a.m. May 11 (doors open at 8 a.m.) at the Stone City Kennel Club, 13606 W. Laraway Road in New Lenox (1 mile east of Cedar Road). Event is designed for puppies 6 months and older and dogs with little or no agility training. Cost is $7 for first run, each additional runs cost $5 per dog running the course. Noah's ark animal workshop: 3 p.m. May 24, All Nations Church, 503 S. Water St. in Joliet. Activities include choosing and naming pets, decorating T-shirts, and a visit from Mojo the Mascot.
