Taize service
St. Edward and Christ Church in Joliet will present its November Taize' service of healing at 7 p.m. Nov. 5.

The Taize' service is distinguished by music, silent meditation and prayer. This service will be in honor All Saints Day. The Rev. Richard Lundgren will officiate.

Those who want healing for themselves or for a friend or loved one are welcome. There will be laying on of hands and anointing with oil for healing of mind, body and spirit. Anointing will also be available for those who cannot be physically present.

Names of the departed associated with the congregation will be read from the parish's Book of Remembrance. Names of deceased loved ones can be added to the book by calling 815-725-6800 or e-mail the church at kwhite@secec.net.

St. Edwards and Christ Church is at Campbell Street and Midland Avenue in Joliet.

Fatima holy hour
A Fatima holy hour of reparation and adoration will be prayed from 9-10 a.m. Nov. 7 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 2212 McDonough St. in Joliet. For more information, call 815-725-1890.
Choir anniversary
Shiloh's Greater United Choir will celebrate its anniversary at 5 p.m. Nov. 8 at the church, 200 Rev. Walton Drive, Lockport.

Guests will include Angela Spivy and The Voices of Victory of Chicago, psalmists sister Anita Green of Chicago and elder Cornelius Rimpson of Joliet, and Pastor Stephen Lewis of True Vine Missionary Baptist Church in Dixmoor.

Remembrance Mass
There will be a remembrance Mass at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 18 at St. Alphonsus Chapel at the corner of Walnut and Logan streets in Lemont.

The Mass is open to those who have experienced the death of a child through miscarriage or other circumstance. There will be a table of remembrance to share pictures or mementos.

Thanksgiving drive
Each year, St. Mary Nativity in Joliet puts together Thanksgiving baskets of food, paper goods, soap, toothpaste and more (whatever is donated) to help families in need.

Donations may be placed in the St. Vincent de Paul bins located in the vestibule of the church at Broadway and Ruby streets.

At this time, there are 45 nonparish families who will be receive a basket.
