World Community Day celebration: 10 a.m. Nov. 6, Ingalls Park Methodist Church, Washington and Davison streets in Joliet. Sponsored by Church Women United. Bring kitchen items (trash bags, dish towels, sponges, cleaning supplies) for Guardian Angels. Lunch will be at noon.

Spaghetti dinner fundraiser: 4-7 p.m. Nov. 6, Lockport VFW Post 5788, 1026 E. Ninth St. in Lockport. Hosted by VFW District 18. Cost $5 ($1 extra for meatballs); $3 for ages 3-6; free for age 2 and younger. Raffle prizes. Tickets available at the door.
