All Soul's Day

A candlelight rosary will be said at St. Joseph Cemetery, 1400 N. Raynor Ave., Joliet, on All Soul's Day at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 2, sponsored by Rosarian Club. The public is invited. The rosary will be said in the cemetery chapel.

'The Ghost'

"The Ghost," a new three-week series at LifeChurch of Morris will start on Nov. 1, beginning with a message titled "The Presence of the Holy."

"The theme of the series is to aid people in getting a biblical understanding of the Holy Spirit and what role he plays in the lives of followers of Christ," said Shaun L. Ettinger, founder and senior pastor of LifeChurch of Morris.

Join with more than 35,000 people across the country as LifeChurch.tv senior Pastor Craig Groeschel shares a Bible-based message using multimedia technology to connect Morris with the mega church in Oklahoma City.

LifeKIDS Klub, the children's experience at LifeChurch, also starts a new series on Nov. 1.

Thanksgiving service

A communitywide Thanksgiving service sponsored by the New Lenox Ministerial Association will be at St. Jude Catholic Church at 4 p.m. on Nov. 15.

Everyone is encouraged to bring food items (any kind) to the service. For those unable to attend but who want to contribute, bring food items to your own church and volunteers will distribute to proper families. St. Jude Catholic Church is at 241 Second Ave. in New Lenox. For more information, call 815-485-8049.

Call to Catholics

Deacon Tom O'Connell will host Catholics Returning Home, to help Catholics reconnect with their faith.

There is no obligation or cost.

Catholics Returning Home is a supportive group to explore concerns and questions. The meeting group includes others thinking about returning, recently returned Catholics and clergy. It is a safe haven in which private issues are identified and dealt with privately.

The six-week series begins Nov. 16. It meets from 7-9 p.m. in the north wing, room A, at St. Mary Immaculate Parish, 15629 S. Route 59 in Plainfield.

In session 1, the group surveys the questions and issues the group wants to explore.

In sessions 2 through 5, topics are adjusted to ensure that everyone's needs are addressed.

Pre-registration is requested.

Treasures of faith

The Rev. Thomas R. McCarthy will present a three-part parish mission titled "The Sacraments -- The Treasures of Our Faith" at St. Mary Immaculate Church, 15629 S. Route 59 in Plainfield at 7 p.m. Nov. 30 through Dec. 2.

On Nov. 30, he will discuss the sacraments of initiation: baptism, Eucharist and confirmation.

On Dec. 1 he will discuss the sacraments of healing: anointing of the sick and reconciliation.

On Dec. 2, the sacraments of vocation: matrimony and holy orders.
