It has been closed for more than eight years, but the old Stefanich's restaurant is slated to reopen in June. Stefanich's, on the north end of downtown Joliet, opened in 1933 but closed in 1999. Since then, there have been a few unsuccessful attempts to open it again.

Wall Street fell sharply early Friday as investors digested wider-than-expected losses at insurer American International Group Inc. and another worrisome spike in oil prices. Oil prices surpassed a record $126 per barrel Friday on the eve of the U.S. driving season as a weakening dollar drove investors to snap up commodities.
