Stella is an interventional cardiologist who is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease with a certificate of additional qualification in interventional cardiology.
He also practices interventional vascular medicine and has performed more than 100 carotid stenting procedures and more than 50 minimally invasive repairs of abdominal aortic aneurysms.
Stella has been practicing medicine since 2002 and earned his medical degree at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine.
As director of the cath lab, Stella already has performed the hospital's first cardiac catheterization procedure on a male patient in his 60s. The patient did extremely well.
Earlier this year, the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board approved the hospital's request for cardiac cath services, providing critical access close to home for residents in and around Will County.
"Our goal is providing the best and most technologically advanced care to our patients at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital," Stella said.
Stella's brothers, Ronald and Joseph, also are cardiologists and belong to the same practice, Heart Care Centers of Illinois, with offices throughout the southwest suburbs.
