Where's my cash for not committing a crime?

The city of Chicago is once again offering a gun buyback program, giving $100 to anybody who turns in a gun, no questions asked. I understand the need to get guns off the street, but why should gun owners and potential criminals get a chance at lining their pockets while leaving the wallets of the peaceful citizens empty?

There are still honest people in the world
It's amazing where you can be when something in life occurs that makes you take a minute and think. For instance I was in line waiting to return something in one our local big box stores when a woman came in line behind me with one item in her hand so I told her to step in front of me since I had several items.

A watermelon was fatally injured after attacking a door frame. At 12:45 a.m. July 14, a resident of the 300 block of Westridge Road heard a loud bang before the alarm system went off.

Reed Johnson had three hits, including a grand slam in the eighth, and the Chicago Cubs routed the Arizona Diamondbacks 10-6 on Wednesday night. Ted Lilly drove in the tying run and threw six uneven innings to help Chicago get its second win in six games since the All-Star break and remain one game in front of Milwaukee in the NL Central.

White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen had seen enough. He was already packing for his team's upcoming road trip when Carlos Quentin came to bat. Quentin proceeded to hit a go-ahead, three-run shot during a five-run eighth inning, his second home run of the game, and the Sox suddenly had an unlikely 10-8 victory over the Texas Rangers on Wednesday.

‘X-Files’ fails to revive sci-fi franchise

The strategy behind “The X-Files: I Want to Believe” isn’t bad – to create a feature-length, stand-alone episode rather than a big-screen spectacle tied to the television series’ labyrinthine mythology.

Unfortunately, writes Sun critic Josh Larsen, the producers have managed an average episode, at best.
