Cantigny 5K walk: Cantigny Park will host a 5K run and walk Nov. 7. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans. Registration for the 9 a.m. race is limited to the first 800 entries. Race registration is available online at signmeup.com/64763. The entry fee of $25 includes a running shirt. New Classic Singers: New Classic Singers will perform at 8 p.m. at St. Petronille Church, 420 Glenwood Ave. in Glen Ellyn. The group will perform "Ein Deutsches Requiem" by Johannes Brahms. St. James auction: An auction will be held Nov. 13 at the Abbington in Glen Ellyn to support St. James the Apostle School and Education Center in Glen Ellyn. Workday at Hidden Lake: The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County will hold its 10th annual "Random Acts of Kindness" workday at Hidden Lake Forest Preserve in Glen Ellyn from 9 a.m. to noon.
