Woman's Club meeting: Peru will be in the spotlight during the next meeting of the Glen Ellyn Woman's Club. At the event, archeologist Winifred Creamer of Northern Illinois University will talk about Peru in an archeological context. DuPage PADS breakfast: DuPage PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) will hold its seventh annual Wake Up Your Spirit Breakfast at 7 a.m. in the Krasa Center at Benedictine University in Lisle. Author visit: Author Dennis McClendon will speak at Glen Ellyn Public Library at 7 p.m. McClendon is the author of a booklet titled "The Plan of Chicago: A Regional Legacy." He will speak about Daniel Burnham's 1909 Plan of Chicago. The presentation is a joint venture of the Wheaton/Glen Ellyn American Association of University Women and the library. Admission is free.

Cantigny 5K walk: Cantigny Park will host a 5K run and walk Nov. 7. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans. Registration for the 9 a.m. race is limited to the first 800 entries. Race registration is available online at signmeup.com/64763. The entry fee of $25 includes a running shirt. New Classic Singers: New Classic Singers will perform at 8 p.m. at St. Petronille Church, 420 Glenwood Ave. in Glen Ellyn. The group will perform "Ein Deutsches Requiem" by Johannes Brahms.
