District 87 to hold community meetings

October 30, 2009

The community is invited to learn more about Glenbard District 87's financial condition and cost reduction plan by attending an information session in November.

Glenbard is operating with a balanced budget this school year and has maintained a balanced budget over the past four years. However, the recession and a reduction in state funding have dramatically impacted revenue projections for Glenbard, school officials said.

In order to achieve its financial objectives, Glenbard must reduce costs by $4.5 million per year from its previously projected spending levels, officials said.

The presentations are scheduled for 8 p.m. Nov. 4 in the theater at Glenbard South High School, 23W200 Butterfield Road in Glen Ellyn, and 7 p.m. Nov. 17 in the auditorium at Glenbard North High School, 990 N. Kuhn Road in Carol Stream.
