The Geneva History Center is hosting a special program about Geneva's Sister City, Croissy-sur-Seine, France on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 7:30 p.m.

For more than three years, Geneva citizens have worked with residents of Croissy-sur-Seine to exchange information, images, ideas, literature and even artifacts. The program will include photographs of Croissy-sur-Seine by Fox Valley photographer Brian DeWolf, a panel discussion by former delegates and a presentation comparing and contrasting the two communities featuring rich images and historical anecdotes.

Wine, cheese and refreshments will be provided. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for members and students. The History Center is located at 113 S. Third St. For more information, contact Dave Oberg, executive director at 630-232-4951 or via e-mail at Exec_Dir@genevahistorycenter.org .

The school board meets on the second and fourth Mondays of the month at 7 p.m. in the district's administrative office, 227 N. Fourth St. The board meetings will be broadcast on Channel 10 and the Internet daily at 4 p.m. Expect a delay of up to several days between the meeting date and the date of broadcast.

The City of Geneva's government and education channel, Channel 10, is provided to the community through a franchise agreement with Comcast. Those who are interested in viewing the Board of Education meetings but do not have access to Channel 10 can go to www.geneva.il.us/channel10.htm . The Board of Education meetings will be streamed online at the same times they are playing on television.

Foster on commission

U.S. Rep. Bill Foster has been named to the Reagan Centennial Commission. The bipartisan commission was created by House Resolution 131, which Foster co-sponsored and supported.

The commission will plan and carry out activities to honor Ronald Reagan on the 100th anniversary of his birth in 2011, and provide assistance to federal, state, and local governmental agencies and civic groups to carry out such activities.
