Aurora
Veterans Day Parade: The parade, sponsored by Roosevelt-Aurora American Legion Post No. 84 will step off at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at Benton and Water streets. The parade route will go north on Broadway to Downer Place and west to the Grand Army of the Republic Memorial Hall. Included in this year's parade will be Marmion Academy, East Aurora High School NJROTC, the Chicago Highland Rifles, the Aurora Lamplighter Chorus and many veterans organizations./p>
Marmion Observance: Marmion Academy will hold its Veterans Day Observance Ceremony at 3:10 p.m. Friday in the Academy gymnasium at 1000 Butterfield Road. The Marmion JROTC Cadet Corps will honor all veterans and especially deceased alumni veterans of war during the after-school formation and parade. Batavia
Veterans Observance Ceremony: The seventh-grade students at Rotolo Middle School will be hosting a Veterans Observance Ceremony at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the school, 1501 S. Raddant Road. The scheduled keynote speaker is Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Ret. U.S. Army Sgt. James Allen Lynch. For more information, call 630-937-8700.
Veterans Day Tribute: Heritage Woods of Batavia will hold a Veterans Day Tribute at 3 p.m. Wednesday to honor resident and local veterans and current military members with a 45-minute performance by the Batavia High School Choir and Orchestra. Heritage Woods is at 1079 E. Wilson St.
Fox Valley
Waubonsee Community College: WCC will host a Veterans Day Observance at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Academic and Professional Center on its Sugar Grove Campus, Route 47 at Waubonsee Drive. The event is free. Along with the college's music department and student veterans, the Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps unit from East Aurora High School will participate in the observance. The program will include the presentation of colors, the national anthem, a reading of the president's Veterans Day proclamation, the placing of a memorial wreath and a drill team performance.
Geneva
Veterans Day Ceremony: Geneva Middle Schools North and South will honor our country's veterans in the 13th Annual Veterans Day Ceremony at 7:25 a.m. Wednesday at the South Cafeteria, 1415 Viking Drive. The program includes student speeches, recognition of veterans, and a performance of "A Jefferson Portrait" (a tribute to the Declaration of Independence).

Salute to Veterans: Area residents are invited to commemorate Veterans Day and learn more about the history of World War II and other conflicts of the 20th century during the Little White School Museum's next Living History Sunday from noon to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the museum, 72 Polk St. A World War II Re-enactment Society program and displays inside and outside the museum will pay tribute to the men and women who served the nation during World War II. St. Charles
Veterans Celebration Concert: The third annual concert takes place in the St. Charles North High School auditorium at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. This concert is a tribute to those who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Veterans are invited to attend. The bands will play a variety of inspirational pieces as a tribute to the veterans. This concert is free, but tickets are limited. Sandwich Schools: Sandwich schools will welcome veterans from the community into the schools on Veterans Day. Waterman
The Aurora Sportsmen's Club: The club is offering an honor guard presentation, historical re-enactors and many military equipment displays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the rifle/pistol ranges on Rueff Road in Waterman. Lunch will be served at no charge to veterans; a donation is requested for non-veterans. Senior Services Associates: Honor Veterans by dressing in your red, white and blue, your stars and stripes or your old uniform or cap. Senior services will have a program from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the center at 908 Game Farm Road. Listen to patriotic music and give thanks to a vet.
