The Downers Grove North boys gymnastics team received one of three at-large bids to the state boys gymnastics meet at Barrington High School that runs May 9 and 10.

Downers Grove North graduate Justin Behm extended his hitting streak to 15 games on May 4 for Northern Illinois University in an 8-6 loss to Central Michigan.

One of the many players who stepped up big at the Naper Valley Invite on May 3 at Waubonsie Valley High School in Aurora was Downers Grove South sophomore Stephen Martinek.

Trojans tired of stopping, starting
To say this season has gone differently than planned for the Downers Grove North softball team is like saying Chicago weather has been unpredictable this year.

Benet knocked off offensive groove
At times it seemed Taylor Heatherly would never be able to hit the ball without falling. Heatherly, a Naperville Central defender, ended up on the ground several times in the Redhawks' 2-0 Naperville Invitational win over visiting Benet on April 19, usually because of slipping while trying to clear the ball out of danger.
