Center for History: Fairways, Green & Clubs golf exhibit features American golf from the 1890s to the 1940s presented in the atmosphere of a vintage clubhouse. The Disaster, Courage & Silence exhibit immortalizes the capsizing of the SS Eastland in 1915. DuPage County Historical Museum: Exhibits will take you on a journey through 150 years of history, a walk in the woods, an 1890's family sitting room and an activity area all about measurement. Greene Valley Forest Preserve: Greene Valley Hill is open to the public and will be open Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Oct. 31. Visitors can reach the hilltop by car, and parking is available at the summit. The hilltop stands 190 feet above land surface, the equivalent of 980 feet above sea level. Model-glider and sailplane enthusiasts can launch their nonpowered crafts at the hilltop. A valid model-aircraft permit is required and can be obtained through Visitor Services. Naper Settlement: Naper Settlement will present "Digging Up The Past: Naperville Dig Archaeology" to Dec. 15. See how history was uncovered by archaeologists during a dig at Joseph Naper's homestead. Learn about Naperville's early history and founding family as told through the discovery of exciting and unique artifacts. Included with admission to the museum. Paul Wolff Campground: Family camping is now open for the season at the Paul Wolff Campground in Elgin within Burnidge Forest Preserve. Paul Wolff Campground withs 48 vehicle camp sites with 50-amp electrical service, and 18 primitive, wooded sites for tents only. Firewood is $5 per bundle. Daily fees are $15 for Kane County residents and $25 for non-residents. Primitive/non-electric camp sites are $10 per day for residents, $15 for nonresidents. The camp season runs to Oct. 31.
