SC East dominates Waubonsie; G-K wins

AURORA -- St. Charles East overpowered host Waubonsie Valley on Friday night, scoring a 21-0 victory in the Upstate Eight Conference football opener for both teams.

Saints senior running back Wes Allen outgained the Warriors with 137 yards rushing, scoring on runs of 26 and 8 yards.

Waubonsie (0-2, 0-1) was limited to just 46 ney yards on 45 offensive plays. The Warriors trailed 14-0 at halftime.

East (2-1, 1-0) rushed 48 times for 259 yards. Kyle Wiebe's 22-yard TD run closed out the scoring in the fourth quarter. Genoa-Kingston 35, Harvard 13 -- The Cogs (3-0) stayed perfect behind the running of Robbie Thurlby, who had 20 rushes for 134 yards.

Chris Wilkins was a double threat for the second week in a row, rushing 17 times for 106 yards while completing 8 of 14 passes for 127 yards.

The Cogs' offensive attack was complemented by staunch defense, as they allowed no points in the second half of the game.
