WOODSTOCK -- For Jacobs softball player Lizzie Andrews setting the team's single-season RBI record last season was nice, but it just might have been more fun the second time around.
Andrews -- who set the record at 36 last year as a junior -- surpassed her own program mark by driving in three runs for her 35th, 36th and 37th RBIs in a 8-2 Golden Eagles win against Woodstock on Monday.
While Andrews didn't have the record in mind when she stepped to the plate for the record-setting hit, it was something she had been aiming for.
"At the beginning of the season it was one of my biggest goals," Andrews said. "It was a great feeling. I never thought I could do it again.
"I wouldn't have been able to do it if the first three hitters in our lineup weren't phenomenal at getting on base all the time."
Andrews finished the afternoon 3-for-4 with a triple, while Sara Jacobson added a pair of doubles for the Golden Eagles (24-3, 12-0 Fox Valley Conference Valley Division). Jenna Teson also went 3-for-4.
Jacobs will host Dundee-Crown today.
