ELGIN -- The St. Edward High School Hall of Fame will open its doors to the 2008 class during halftime at the first boys varsity basketball game Friday.
Jackie Brittain, Class of 1999, will be recognized for her accomplishments on the softball diamond, including receiving All-State honors.
The State Champion 1981-82 boys golf team will also be enshrined. Team members Chris Carlson, Pete Collingbourne, John Harwood, Jay Huffer, Sean O'Connor and Rob Olson will all be recognized for their contribution to the team.
St. Edward Hall of Famer Jim Perkins coached the golf team during its championship run and will introduce them during the ceremony.
Former softball coach and Hall of Famer Peg Corcoran will introduce Brittain, having coached her all four seasons.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Westminster Christian 55, Chicagoland Jewish 40 -- Ryan Beachler poured in 15 points as the Warriors maintained their perfect record with the non-conference victory.
Westminster (5-0) used a 19-point second quarter to take a 29-17 lead at halftime.
Mike Nicosia and Jordan Kalous had nine points apiece and Dan Graves tallied eight points for the Warriors. Joe VandenBos contributed six points and Ian Dutcher and Ben Carani had four points each.
"It's nice to be 5-0," Westminster coach Bruce Firchau said. "It's kind of a surprise, but the schedule is about to really pick up."
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Crystal Lake South 62, Elgin 37 -- The Maroons (2-4) were defeated in this non-conference contest against Crystal Lake South. Brandi Hernandez led Elgin with 10 points.
Caris Alan (8 points) and Kayla Jackson (5 points) also scored for the Maroons.
BOWLING
Lake Park 4, Bartlett 0 -- Erin Boothe's 456 series led Barltett in this defeat at the hands of the Lancers. Boothe's 171 was also the high game for the Hawks. Lake Park edged Bartlett in total pins 2,712-1,846. WRESTLING
Johnsburg 49, Huntley 29 -- The Red Raiders fell in this Fox Valley Conference matchup.
Danny McLaughlin, Ian Fields, Kenn Quirk and Mike Silvestri all notched fall victories for Huntley.
