Apparent hit-and-run leaves Elgin man dead on I-55
The body of a man who appears to be the victim of a hit-and run was found early Wednesday on Interstate 55. At 1:33 a.m. state police received several calls about a man lying in the right northbound lane near milepost 244, just south of Arsenal Road.

It's a sport that dates back 2,000 years, although it's introduction to the Fox Valley is much more recent. Despite stormy weather, the dragon boat races surged ahead this weekend at the 26th annual Pride of the Fox RiverFest in St. Charles. Dragon-boat racing was introduced to the festival in 1992.
