A hometown place for a hometown crowd

The Genoa Café is a comfortable eatery specializing in breakfast and lunch favorites.

Manager Mustafa Ajeti said breakfast lovers will enjoy the café's breakfast menu, which is served all day.

The menu includes breakfast favorites such as omelets, eggs, waffles, french toast and pancakes.

Lunch options include a good selection of burgers and sandwiches such as a BLT, all of which are served with french fries.

The Genoa Café also has entrée-sized salads and a handful of entrée choices, such as liver and onions, fried chicken and a steak dinner.

Ajeti also makes a soup of the day from scratch each morning. Soup selections include cream of potato, chicken noodle, chicken dumpling and navy bean.

The café offers both breakfast and lunch specials that rotate regularly. The current breakfast special, for example, is any omelet with potatoes and choice of toast for $4.69.

Ajeti said the café does have a group of regular customers, but most customers are newcomers or only occasional visitors. There is seating for between 60 and 75 in a mix of tables and booths.

Ajeti said the restaurant hosts a steady stream of customers throughout the day, although Sunday mornings are probably the eatery's most busy time.
