Grant helps Kane County buy flood-prone sites
Although the last big flood occurred nearly two years ago, residents of the Richardson subdivision still recall the flooded rooms and water damage.


Geneva woman: ‘I was in prison in my own life’
Mia Hays didn't have the storybook senior year of high school. Hanging out with friends, going to prom and graduation mean something completely different when you're pregnant. Being a mom at 18 does, too. "My main priority has been my daughter for two years," said Hays, now 20. "... It got to the point where I felt I was in prison in my own life." So she disappeared for nearly two months.
