Police Report

Elgin


• Felony driving charge: Jeffery C. Lane, 30, of 476 Stella St., Elgin, was arrested Monday on felony charges of driving while license suspended and obstructing justice. Lane allegedly gave a police officer false information during a traffic stop in an attempt to avoid arrest, a report said. Lane's bail was set at $7,000.


• Aggravated DUI: Jose M. Martinez-Aguilar, 28, of 445 Fremont St., was arrested Monday on a felony charge of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol and a misdemeanor charge of driving while license suspended. Martinez-Aguilar's bail was set at $15,000.


• Vehicle burglary: A CD player was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in a driveway at a residence in the 400 block of Worth Street Sunday morning.


• Residential burglary: Four bottles of cologne, a watch and a CD player were reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Dubois Avenue Sunday evening.

South Elgin


• Felony theft and drug charges: Deshawn T. Mitchell, 17, of 213 Gifford St., was arrested Sunday on felony theft and drug charges. Police said they were called to the Best Buy store, 424 Randall Road, Sunday morning on a report of stolen prepaid phones and a memory card worth a total of $460.37. Officers received a description of the thief and located Mitchell riding a bicycle about half an hour later. Police said they found the merchandise from Best Buy, along with 20 grams of cannabis packaged in 25 bags, inside Mitchell's backpack. It was later determined that the bike Mitchell rode was stolen, a report said. Mitchell's bail was set at $8,000.

Bartlett


• Prostitution and drug charges: Sherry A. Rutz, 30, of 102 N Elroy Ave., Bartlett, was arrested Friday on a felony charge of prostitution within 1,000 feet of a school, a felony charge of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Rutz allegedly invited an undercover police officer into her home about 10 a.m. Friday to engage in sexual activity for money, a report said. The undercover bust was a result of an investigation that began Sept. 4 when Bartlett police discovered Rutz's profile "Mercedes" on a local adult escort and adult Web site, police said. Rutz, released on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond, is to appear in court Nov. 25.


• Contributing, assault charges: Marie D. Latorre, 44, of 511 Hampton Circle, Bartlett, was arrested Saturday on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and assault. Latorre allegedly provided alcohol to at least one minor during a party held at her home on Saturday, police report. The alcohol from the party resulted in citations of unlawful consumption for three teens -- a 16-year-old girl, a 16-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl, police report. As police were responding to an initial report of a loud party, officers allegedly were approached by a woman who said that Latorre assaulted her as she went inside Latorre's home to pick up her own teenager, police said. Latorre was released on a $1,000 recognizance bond.


• Burglary and drug charges: A 16-year-old Bartlett boy was arrested Sunday on a felony charge of residential burglary and a misdemeanor charge of unlawful possession of cannabis. Police responded about 8 a.m. Sunday to the 1300 block Tamarack Drive for a report of a burglary in progress, a report said. The homeowner reportedly saw a male juvenile leave his residence and drive away in a dark-colored Ford Explorer, police report. Police located the vehicle near the 1100 block of West Bartlett Road. The suspect ran away, but was caught a short time later, police said.

Carpentersville


• Fake identity cards: Francisco Carillo-Castro, 18, of 1310 Wakefield Drive, was arrested Monday on charges he possessed phony Social Security and permanent residence cards. He is charged with two counts of felony unlawful possession of a fraudulent identification card. Carrillo-Castro admitted in court Monday that he is a Mexican citizen. His bail was set at $7,000.

St. Charles


• Aggravated battery charge: Francisco A. Feliz-Moreno, 26, of 1214 Kings Circle, West Chicago, was charged Saturday with obstructing a peace officer, criminal trespass to a residence and aggravated battery to a peace officer. Police said they were called to an apartment in the 1600 block of Indiana Street around 6:30 p.m. in response to calls about a man who walked into the residence uninvited. While he was being arrested, Felix-Moreno allegedly attempted to choke an officer, reports stated. He was being held as of Monday in Kane County jail, with bail set at $50,000.
